MOTIVATION

Motivation is something we all need, it helps us get through things and it helps us when we are trying to do something we don't think we can do. Well I found something that is harder than motivation and that is self motivation. Try being up at 4:30 in the morning and you are drinking your coffee thinking, I do not want to go to the gym today. I could wake my wife or kids up and say you need to motivate me to go the gym. I think they would kill me, so you need to motivate yourself. I have a saying that I tell other people at the gym and that is " all you have to do is make it to the door ". That is so true because I found out this morning that it does work and I made it to the door. I got to the front door of the gym and went in and had a great workout after all. See sometimes you have to push yourself harder than other people will push you. So just remember that if you need a little motivation to get you going, remember all you have to do is make it to the door and everything will be alright.

ARE YOU READY

Today was one of those days that you think about and ask yourself, Are you ready? What I mean is ready to go, I started thinking about this and was wondering, there are 3 things you need to be ready. You need to be mentally ready, spiritually ready and physically ready. I am a christian so the spiritual part is always being worked on and you can never get enough or close enough to God. This is one area I know that I am doing good in and there is always room for improvement. The other area is mentally and this area is the hardest because you are always thinking about the future and what is going to happen. This area is one area that can always use improving. The area I am really working on now and that is getting physically ready. I go to the YMCA and work out about 4 days a week and you know it is the best I have been feeling in a long time. The hardest thing is accountability, I changed my hours at work and now I go in at 6am instead of 5am and I am on my own. This is where the self discipline comes in and you just go out there and do it. The 3 things I am referring to is me dealing with this upcoming deployment but if you think about it it can also be used in life in general. So are you ready to move on and deal with the things that come your way? Remember never give up when life gets hard because God is there even when you don't think so. I know He is with me.

SUNDAY MORNING.

Well it is Sunday morning and it is a day that I look forward too. It's the day I get to go to church and worship my Lord. I am a christian and yes I am also a soldier and the two work real good together. I think one of the other things I enjoy about Sunday is my class. I am a Sunday school teacher and I love to teach because the Lord just seems to work through the subject I am teaching. He seems to give me ideas and words to say that are not in my outline but it always fits. This lesson I am teaching is titled "In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day". The author is Mark Batterson and this week's lesson is on fear. We all have fear at times especially when you have an upcoming deployment. I do not feel the fear yet because we are still far away but as the time comes closer you start to think about it more. The one thing this week's lesson is teaching is you have to face your fears and that helps you get over them and it also helps knowing you have a God that is right there with you going through this fear with you. I believe He helps us get through them but letting us go through them and learning about what we just went through. If He took it all away all the time life would be boring and easy. We all know that it is the challenges of life that makes our life interesting. The main topic this book is talking about is this, what if the life you really wanted, and the future God want's for you, is hiding right now in your biggest problem, your worst failure..... your greates fear? Let's face our problem's, our failures, and our fears and let God guide us through them. I am ready to teach my lesson because I know once I get there God will be there helping me teach. Thanks for reading and I hope you get something out of it.
