A NEW MILESTONE IN MY LIFE

Well as you all know from a few blogs ago that my oldest daughter turned 16. Well she has just gotten her drivers license. It is a weird feeling seeing your daughter drive away in the car. It is also a weird feeling when you are so use to being together and now it is just you and your wife. I know my daughters are loving the freedom especially my younger one, she is really liking it. I am just so proud of my daughter and for all her effort into learning how to drive. I know when the time came for her to take the test the rear view mirror fell off the windshield. They had to stop by and get there grandfathers truck which she never drove before. She was a real trooper and did just fine with her grandfathers truck. Well she is on the insurance now and she can drive herself around. I guess one thing that is good about it is we don't have to take her everywhere anymore, she can just drive herself. Now we can also use her to drive her sister around too and me and my wife can just hang around the house. I guess it is a good milestone but also a sad one one because my girls are getting older and soon they won't need there dad anymore and they will be on there own. Well Elizabeth congrats on getting your license and you are doing a great job.

REALITY

Well I just got back from vacationing in Gatlinburg, we are calling it our second honeymoon. I spent 4 days with just my wife and I in the mountains of the smokies. It was nice to get away and we had so much fun together. I think the one thing that was nice was it was just us, the kids were with there grandparents. It was great and the scenery was even better.

The fall colors were almost breathtaking and I sat there in amazement and wondered how people can say there is no God. We also went hiking on a small little trail to a place called Laurel falls. The sign said it was 1.3 miles but it was uphill the whole way. I kept saying to myself that I hope this walk is worth it and it is not just a guy with a garden hose making the falls. We got there and it was worth it.
We did get time to relax a little and bit and enjoy our time together. The cabin had a very nice hot tub on the back deck. We did take advantage of it, after walking through the tourist trap all day in Gatlinburg it was very relaxing.
I must admit that it was so much fun that we did not want to come home. Coming home means getting back to reality. So we had to say goodbye to our second honeymoon and we hope we don't wait another 20 years to take another.
It is now Sunday afternoon and I just got done watching my Titans beat the Eagles and now to start preparing for the week. I guess the bad thing about being gone is someone filled in for you at work or at least you hope so. It is so nice to get away but you do have to come back to reality and get back in the rat race. I want to thank my beautiful wife for the last 20 years and the many more that will come. I hope you enjoy the pics. Gatlinburg is a great place to visit in the fall. Y'all have a great week.
